Rage Against the Machine is reuniting! It was originally for only one event, but if you like Adioslave, or Rage Against the Machine this is big news. According to the official press release, they will be headlining at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
You can buy tickets for the show at all ticketmaster outlets. Single day passes are $85, and a full 3-day pass to the festival is $249. Rage Against the Machine is billed to play the closing night of the festival April 29.
The band members are Tom Morello (guitar), Tim Commerford (bass), and Brad Wilk (drums), and of course Zack de la Rocha (lead vocalist). The band did many benefit concerts for various causes throughout the years. They are active in anything to promote our freedoms, and are adamantly against oppression.
The band broke up in late 2000. Zack de la Rocha released a statement on October 18th 2000, citing that the complete failure of the band’s decision making process forced his separation. The remaining band members auditioned several new vocalists, but found no one who could fill the void.
Subsequently, the other members of Rage Against the Machine formed the band Adioslave with Chris Cornell (former lead vocalist/guitarist from Soundgarden). Zack de la Rocha started working on a solo album but never released it. Then on February 16, 2007, Chris Cornell announced that he was leaving Audioslave.
After Chris Cornell’s split with Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine added 3 more dates. These three extra dates will be with the Rock the Bells Festival. On July 28th the festival will be in New York; it comes to San Bernardino on August 11; and the most important date would be August 18th in San Francisco.
