Día de los Muertos or The Day of the Dead is a day to remember those who have passed. This is a Latin American Holiday celebrated on November 2.
Families and friends of loved ones who have passed gather to pray and remember them by bringing them their favorite foods, marigolds, and building them private alters.
Yuba College’s Crossing Borders Building Bridges has put up a very nice display in the library. Showcasing photos of people celebrating, boxes with remembrance items in them, a display of Cesar Chavez adorned with candles, and many other colorful decorations.
One of the displays contains photos of a young girl named Amanda Lynn Ford, along with some of her art work and her favorite candy. The display contains a lot of feeling that will draw you in.
Professor Neelam Canto-lugo of Crossing Borders Building Bridges, spoke about it and the day of celebration with The Prospector.
