Blown Away is the latest installment of the Carrie Underwood music empire. Released back in May,, 2012, the rise to popularity is slower than the first CD’s release by the American Idol superstar. However the styles are still Carrie Underwood, going from fast and fun songs like ”Good Girl” to deep and meaningful songs such as “Forever Changed.” There’s even a country-reggae feel to her song “One Way Ticket.”
The personal favorite would have to be “Cupid’s Got a Shotgun,” which will fit for hunting season and Valentine’s day, ah the talent. Last but not least, the title track will remind you why exactly Ms. Underwood is one of the top grossing reality show winners. “Blown Away” is a balladic country song featuring a powerful range of notes and advertising the complete control Carrie Underwood has over her vocal abilities.
All in all the CD should have been a smashing success, but perhaps the same styles and storylines are preventing the album from time as number one on the charts. “Good Girl” and “Forever Changed” are reminiscent of “Cowboy Casanova” and “Temporary Home,” respectively. Buying it still worth it no matter what, it is 100% Carrie.
