Students will return to the polls in May, this time to elect candidates for the Associated Students of Yuba College

The offices that are open are President, Vice President, Secretary, Business Director, Activities Director Communications Director and one Senator per 1,000 students at Marysville and Yuba/Sutter locations.

In order to be nominated for an ASYC chair, students must file a petition in the Campus Life office, located in Osuna Hall, during the nomination period, which should be the third week of April.

The applicant needs to submit his or her name, social security and Student I.D. number, photograph, name of the position wanted and a petition signed by five currently enrolled student body members who wish to nominate the candidate for the office.

Campus Life will determine the eligibility of all persons desiring to run, which must be obtained before a person may run for an elected office.

The President and Vice President must have competed 12 units in order to run for office. The President, Vice President, Secretary and Business Director must be enrolled in 12 units at the time they assume office and may not drop under nine unites during their term.

It is not mandatory that any other elective or appointed members of the council have prior college units. However, they must be enrolled in at least nine units to run for, or be appointed to, office and may not drop below six units during their term in office

The names of all eligible nominees will be posted on campus bulletin boards and in the Student Bulletin as the "Official List of Candidates" one week before election.

Installation of elected officers will take place on campus prior to June 1.
