The men's basketball team has lost its preseason rank of being number one in state. However, the men are 4-3, so they have not exactly hit rock bottom. On Tuesday, November 23, the 49ers had their first home game. Sadly, they lost 75-71 to Butte College.

At half time, Yuba was trailing 44-26, Brian Videau scored six of Yuba's first nine shots, shortening the difference to 50-35. Zach Andrews, with 10:20 left on the clock, made a slam-dunk to up Yuba's score to 56-45.
However, Butte was still in the lead until Videau, with 7:29 remaining in the game, netted a basketball to tie the game 56-56. Then with 5:16 left, Mychael Henry scored to put the 49ers up by one, with a 62-61 score.

As the game went on, time was running out for the 49ers. Amazingly, with just 6.3 seconds left on the clock, Jon sheets scored, bringing the game close with a 73-71 score. Butte then scored another two points to claim victory over Yuba.

The men played well, with Henry and Videau scoring 13 points each. Adam Snyder added 10 and Mercado Solomon netted nine.
